What can I enter?
A video about folding cartons (and/or cartonboard).
Your video should, in a creative way, promote or explain the benefits of folding cartons/cartonboard. It could be specifically about one or more features of folding cartons/cartonboard, or may have a wider environmental message (for example, to encourage recycling of folding cartons/cartonboard products inside or outside the home).
It should be entertaining, communicate a clear message or proposition and be suitable for various social media channels, presentations, events, websites or even commercials.
- Minimum length: 15 seconds
- Maximum length: 2 minutes
- Format: .mp4/.mov, 16:9, min. 1080p (HD)
- Technique/Genre: open (live-action, animated, stop motion etc.)
- Language: English
Please note:
- Videos that feature material other than cartonboard (e.g. corrugated board) can NOT be accepted.
- NO repeat entries from previous Award years will be accepted.
How to enter?
Read the Rules carefully.
Make sure you understand what is meant by cartons/cartonboard (please see Cartons & Cartonboard for more information).
Download the awards logo and make it the last sequence of your film. Upload your video file either to YouTube (unlisted) or Google Drive. Please make sure we will be able to access the file.
Fill out the Entry form:
- Describe your project in no more than 150 words.
- Add your video link to your entry form.
Deadline: Friday 21st June 2025. All entries need to be uploaded by this date. Entries can be submitted when they are ready, do NOT wait until the last day – your entries can be submitted now! Remember to add studentawards@procarton.com to your contacts, you will receive a confirmation email.
The competition is free to enter.
By submitting a video, you give the organisers the right to showcase the submitted concepts publicly including in the Awards Brochure, exhibitions, publications and all other promotional documentation and media relevant to the competition.
Helpful Tips for describing your design concept
If possible, include answers to some of the following questions in your description:
- What was the motivation for your video?
- Which major carton benefit do you stress in your video?
- What is the difference to other packaging substrates?
- What techniques do you apply when making the video?
- What were the major challenges you met when preparing the video?
- What unique visual and storytelling techniques or elements did you incorporate into your video, and how do they contribute to its impact?
- How did you work with actors, props, locations or ‘other’ to bring your video to life?
- How does your video resonate with current societal issues or trends, and what impact do you hope it will have on the audience?
REMEMBER THAT YOUR ENTRY DESCRIPTION NEEDS TO BE 150 WORDS OR LESS.
Public Voting
The judges will put together a shortlist of this year’s most compelling videos. They will be presented on a voting page on the Pro Carton website. Furthermore, all selected videos will be promoted on our social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn. Everyone is invited to cast their vote and support the creators they prefer most. Any form of manipulation of votes will result in disqualification.
The winner of the Public Award will receive €1000.
Who can enter?
The competition is open to all European students, but will particularly be of interest to those studying business, marketing and communications, media, film-making, audio-visual or similar courses. They must be studying on a recognized full-time educational course at the time of entry.
Up to five students can enter together, however, one-person projects are, of course, welcome.
What can I win?
The winner will receive €3,000! If the entry is by more than one student, the prize will be shared equally.
Highly Commended will receive €1,000. If the entry is by more than one student, the prize will be shared equally.
The winner of the Public Award will receive €1000.
If circumstances allow, the winner(s) will be invited to the Pro Carton award celebrations in September 2025. Travel expenses and accommodation covered. If you enter as a group, please be aware that only one person will be invited to the Awards Gala.
How does the judging work?
The judging panel will consist of experts from the world of marketing, film and folding cartons. They will independently review and rate your video.
Important information:
Please note that this competition is about printed “folding” cartons used to package products ranging from pasta and frozen food to cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Brown fluted corrugated boxes (e.g. Amazon transit packaging) and liquid packaging (e.g. fruit juice cartons) are excluded. Please do not feature these packaging formats in your video, as they risk being disqualified.
An entry gives the organisers the right to show and use the submitted videos as they see fit, including use in the public domain and social media.
The organisers will not pass on personal data nor disclose addresses to third parties.

How do I enter?
To enter the PCSVA, just follow the instructions on our dedicated PCSVA page here, which will instruct you step by step on how to enter. Remember, you must submit your entry before the deadline date. The closing date for PCSVA is midnight on Friday the 20th of June 2025.
Do I need to be a student?
You must be enrolled at a European school or university for the academic year 2025 to enter the PCSVA. Entrants must be enrolled at the time of entering.
What are the requirements?
Produce a short video of up to two minutes in length, which promotes or explains the benefits of folding cartons or cartonboard in a creative way. It could be specifically about one or more features of folding carton/cartonboard, or may have a wider environmental message.
What are the prizes?
- The winner of the PCSVA will receive €3000.

- The winner of the Public Award will receive €1000.
All winners and their teachers will be invited to the Awards Gala in Istanbul, September 2025 to network with leading producers of cartonboard and folding cartons.
What language can I complete my Online entry form in?
ALL entry forms must be completed in English.
What is the closing date for entries?
The closing date for PCSVA is midnight on the 20th June 2025.

What should I include in my video?
Your video must showcase the benefits of folding carton or cartonboard, and the PCSVA 2025 award logo must be featured in the final sequence of your film. Other than that, be as creative as you like! Please find more information here.
Can I resubmit an entry from a previous year?
No, any entries which have been submitted from previous years will be disqualified.
When will you announce the winners?
Winners will be announced at the prestigious Awards on Thursday 18 September 2025 in Istanbul, Türkiye.
