ECMA Annual Congress 2022

The ECMA Congress for 2022 took take place in Krakow, Poland on 15 & 16 September 2022 – this has been the largest gathering from the European folding carton and cartonboard sector since 2019.

The theme of the Congress was ‘Sustainability Unboxed’ and there was a superb line-up of speakers including Carrefour, Euromonitor, BPO Packaging Strategy & Innovation, EXPRA,  CEPI, Moorgate Capital and Suez Circpack whilst the keynote speaker was the acclaimed TED presenter Leyla Acaroglu. Mr Marek Belka MEP and Ex-Prime Minister of Poland opened the Congress.  ECMA was delighted to welcome special guests from Ukraine and to make a €10,000 donation to the ‘Pure in Hearts Charitable Foundation’ supporting refugees in Ukraine.

The Congress was, as usual, a celebration of all things connected with folding cartons and cartonboard and gave many members the chance to meet industry friends and colleagues for the 1^st time in 3 years… during the Thursday evening dinner, we celebrated the winners of the European Carton Excellence Awards.
