Final Joint Statement on EUDR

On July 9th 2024, a joint statement undersigned by organisations representing the European primary producers and various industries including Pro Carton relating to the the postponement of the entry into application of the EUDR was sent to the Honourable President Ursula Von der Leyen as well as the Environment Ministers of the European Union. This joint statement touches upon the obstacles faced in the industry such as market uncertainties, disruptions within the industry on a world-wide scale, and potential damage on customer purchasing power. The conclusion drawn is that postponement is needed to allow the relevant European industries to allocate proper resources to prepare for such an implementation in the future.
