Packaging made of paper, cardboard and corrugated board has the highest return rate of all materials in Austria at around 85 percent. In 2021, 1.8 million tons of paper will be collected in Austria as raw material for new products. Significantly more, namely 2.5 million tons, were recycled for the production of new paper, corrugated board and cardboard products in domestic plants. This shows that an even higher collection rate would be easily possible in Austria.
