The 2023 Pro Carton Young Designers Award (PCYDA) winners are ready for take-off!

Main Prize

The main prize for winners of the PCYDA 2023 Award is a trip to Turkey to visit the world-class manufacturing sites of Kartonsan mill and leading European folding carton producer Duran Dogan for a unique learning opportunity.  The young designers attend 2 Practical Training Days with the sponsors of PCYDA 2023 and take the opportunity to discuss their projects with professional designers.

Following a welcome dinner, the young designers leave early the following morning for a visit to Kartonsan mill where they attend a presentation, take a tour of the mill, visit the laboratory for quality control and cardboard specifications and are treated to a slap-up lunch.  Following that visit, they are driven back to Istanbul for a networking dinner with members of the KASAD team – the Turkish Carton Makers Association.  The following morning they take a journey to Duran Dogan where the young designers learn first-hand about cartonboard and the folding carton industry, be exposed to exclusive industry processes and network with executives over lunch – certainly something to add to their CVs!  That evening the young designers are free to enjoy the delights of Istanbul before being driven back to the airport the following morning.

During the practical training days, the PCYDA 2023 winners learn a lot about creating sustainable packaging for leading brands on a huge scale and gain priceless insights into packaging expertise and may even come out with some useful contacts to help kickstart their careers.   We would like to thank Kartonsan and Duran Dogan once again for their sponsorship of PCYDA 2023 and for organising such an unforgettable experience for the winners.
