ASPACK Celebrate Their Spanish Award Winners
4 November 2019
Madrid, October 28, 2019.
Fighting climate change and contributing to a more sustainable future are two goals that companies are increasingly pursuing in light of both growing social demand and their own corporate responsibility strategies. Choosing recyclable packaging over traditional packaging is an integral part of such strategies and was the central theme at the fourth ASPACK Cardboard Packaging Value Chain Forum with this year’s theme of “Ecodesign: innovation for a sustainable future”. The event was held on October 24 at Elisava University School of Design in Barcelona and was attended by more than 80 people and moderated by journalist Gorka Zumeta.
During the event, a prize was presented for the best Spanish cartonboard pack by a student designer. This is a very special award from Pro Carton and ASPACK as it recognizes the work of tomorrow’s professionals, welcoming them to the cartonboard packaging sector. The award went to Baseem Munawwar, a student at IED Barcelona, for his Snack Attack project.
ASPACK Vice President José Ramón Benito closed the day with a reflection that the industry has already adopted: "sustainability and responsible consumption is the future“ he said. And he encouraged participants to continue to share ideas and to step up collaboration between suppliers, manufacturers and brands.
