The most beautiful new building. Award for new building of Marbach Poland in Kielce.
6 July 2017
The Heilbronn-based die-cutting manufacturer Marbach operates worldwide. One of its 16 plants is located in Kielce, Poland. This subsidiary was housed in a rented building during the last years. The move into a newly constructed building took place in June 2016. This building has recently won an architecture award.
Pavol Kunstar, CEO of Marbach Poland: ‘‘The preparations for the new company building in Kielce had already started in 2014. Ground-breaking was in September and after a period of more than one and a half years construction, the building was finished in spring 2016. The 1,580 m² plant was officially opened at a ceremony on the 1st of June 2016 attended by many representatives of the city and the economic region. The employees at the subsidiary in Kielce are very happy with their new workplace. The building is not only beautiful, but also offers them the best working conditions.’’
But not only the employees like the new building. Also Konrad Śmierzyński from the architectural office Tera Group liked it so much, that he entered it for an architectural contest. This was advertised by the local newspaper ‘‘Echo Dnia’’, together with the exhibition center Kielce and the technical university of the region, in order to award a prize for the best building investments 2016 in the region Świętokrzyskie. The buildings could be entered in different categories: residential buildings, trade and service buildings, public institutions, industrial objects and modifications. All nominated objects were presented in an online portal. They could be voted for during the time period between the 21st and 31st of March 2017.
Marbach Poland's new building in Kielce won first place in the category ‘‘industry objects’’. The festive award presentation took place on the 7th of April 2017 at a gala event. PavolKunstar: ‘‘We are very proud of this award, even though we didn’t expect to win. The nomination was a surprise. But more important for us than the look of the building is of course its functionality. Optimal production processes are the basis for a successful future at Marbach Poland. We want to grow further in our new building, since we now have enough space.’’
The Marbach Group invests continuously in its locations. At the beginning of 2017, an administration building at the headquarters in Heilbronn was expanded. At the moment, an existing storage building is being rebuilt, in order to accommodate soon the new die-cutting machine. Further investments at different locations will follow.
